The Stanley Men's Golf Club is a non-profit golf club organization that was founded in 1934. Our current membership of 120 members, promotes competition, fellowship, and sportsmanship in the game of golf.

Eligibility

Stanley Men’s Club members must have a valid GHIN Handicap to play in Men’s Club events. New members without a GHIN just need to post scores totaling 54 holes (9 or 18-hole rounds) to establish a Handicap Index.


Pace of Play

18-Hole rounds are expected to be completed in 4 hours and 10 minutes. Slow play will not be tolerated. Members who do not adhere to the pace of play will forfeit early tee time privileges. 

Pace of Play Guidelines • Any group who finishes an 18 hole round over 4:40 minutes or longer AND whose total round time is greater than the preceding group is in violation and will receive a penalty as noted below.

• Any group who does not accurately note the Ending Time on the scorecard will receive a penalty as noted below. 

Any individual who is being disrespectful of rangers, starters, or other golf course staff who indicate slow play will receive a penalty as noted below. Pace of Play Penalties 

1st Offense - Written warning. • 2nd Offense - Suspended from playing in the next 2 Men’s Club events. • 3rd Offense - Suspended from playing in all or remaining Men’s Club Championships. • Subsequent offenses will result in sanctions determined by the Committee.


Tournament Registration

Tournament Registration begins two weeks prior to the event date. Registration deadline is Sunday evening the week before the event. Members can register via an email invitation, in the Pro Shop, or online at Golf Genius.


Tournament Entry Fees

Tournament Entry Fees will be accepted electronically via PayPal / Venmo or cash in the Pro Shop and must be paid prior to your tee time.


Tee Times and Results

Tee Times are blocked generally starting at 8:00 am. The Pro Shop will set the tee times for the field. Tee Times and Results will be communicated via email, posted in the Pro Shop and can be viewed online at Golf Genius.


Ties for First Place / Last Place

The following events will hold a sudden death playoff starting on the first hole to determine the overall gross winner: Two Ball Championship, City Championship, Club Championship, Senior Club Championship, and Ryder Cup. The Two Man Match Play Championship will hold a sudden death playoff to determine the flight winner. Tee Time events will use the tie breaker system last nine, last six, last three, last hole(s). Shotgun start events will break ties starting with the first handicap hole.


Score Posting

The Pro Shop will post all rounds for Men’s Club Events! All other rounds should be posted via the GHIN app or the GHIN website the day of play. Ask a fellow Men’s Club member or a Golf Shop Professional if you need assistance posting scores. The score posting season in the Northeast is April 1 - November 14.


Violations for not Posting 18 Hole Scores

The first violation is a written warning and we post your score. The second violation is a written warning and we post a penalty score of 71. Any further violations will result in a written membership suspension until you meet with the Board of Directors and Handicap Chairman.


Local Rules

Play the ball down unless otherwise indicated. Rake, lift, clean and place in all sand traps 6”, no penalty. Free relief from safety fences, provided the ball is in-bounds, no line-of-sight relief. The Men’s Club has adopted USGA rule E-5 “Alternative to Stroke and Distance for Lost Ball or Ball Out of Bounds”. Gold Tees

Stanley Men’s Golf Club members whose Age = 70 or higher are eligible to play from the Gold Tees. The change must be made by 6/1 and is for the season. Gold Tee players are not eligible for gross payouts unless there is a separate flight.
